Virtual Viral Theater – Read plays with Theater in the Rough

In these times of unprecedented global crisis, our behavior and cultural norms are undergoing a radical, and temporary, challenge. Now, more then ever, is the time to make meaningful art to feel connected to ourselves and to each other – certainly a challenge when everything has gone virtual.

Upcoming!

Thursday, April 23rd at 8pm – Shakespeare Monologue Session. Come celebrate the life of the Bard of Avon with us online! Ready your favorite Shakespeare monologue to work on with us live, or tune in to watch and enjoy. Zoom >

Join our play readings

So we’ve decided to continue our virtual play readings (not just Shakespeare!) to get us through this challenging time.

We’re continuing to learn as we go. We already have some ideas on how to streamline our next meeting, and we welcome any thoughts, comments or feedback.

Read with us, or just tune in and enjoy!

DONATE

These readings are dedicated to the efforts of the amazing organizations listed below. Please consider a donation to help them aid those in need in this time of crisis.

ELIFELET, an amazing organization working tirelessly to rescue the babies and children of the asylum seeker’s community in Israel. The largest volunteer-based charity in their field, Elifelet is currently raising money to donate food, baby food and diapers to needy families. The asylum seeker’s community in Israel lives on the knife’s edge of financial duress on a daily basis, and they have no financial or medical safety net to deal with the fallout from coronavirus crisis. LEKET ISRAEL, an incredible organization that feeds Israelis in need by repurposing excess prepared food. With the closing of hotels and corporate caterers due to government restrictions and fear of infection, Leket’s 9,000 daily hot meal recipients are in a bind, many of them elderly, isolated and at high risk.
